Cardiac Services

Program Overview

Lebanon Community Hospital offers a full complement of diagnostic services to help determine the health status of your cardiac system. If diagnostic testing finds that you need either non-surgical or surgical interventions, we can help you access the services you need through our affiliation with the heart center of Samaritan Health Services.

In addition to its diagnostic services, the hospital sponsors a Cardiac Rehabilitation Program and the Healthy Heart Support Group.

Diagnostic Services

To determine if you have cardiac disease or to what extent your disease has progressed, we administer electrocardiogram (EKG) tests, using 12 leads to monitor various cardiac functions. To best meet your particular diagnostic needs, we offer stress tests both with and without nuclear imaging. In addition, we can help you monitor your cardiac symptoms through Holter Monitoring and event monitoring, which allows you to go about your daily activities outside the hospital, while you are wearing a small monitor that records any cardiac abnormalities you may have.

Cardiac Rehabilitation

Location: Lebanon Community Hospital - near east entrance
Information: (541) 451-7888

Patients who have, or who are at risk for, heart disease are invited to participate in a rehabilitation program consisting of monitored exercise classes three times a week and a comprehensive education program designed to help modify lifestyle risks. A nurse case manager will design a program to meet each participant's particular needs.

A panel of the U.S. Public Health Service encourages doctors and patients to be more aware of the benefits of cardiac rehabilitation, which include:

  • Improved cardiovascular and muscular efficiency,
  • Increased exercise awareness,
  • Lowered cholesterol levels through good nutrition and physical activity,
  • Supervised monitoring of cardiovascular parameters (heart rate, blood pressure, heart rhythms),
  • A better understanding of factors related to living a healthier lifestyle.

Healthy Heart Group

For more information on this and other support groups and community education classes, click on Health Info and Classes, or call (541) 451-7177.

This group offers education and emotional support for people who have had heart attacks or bypass surgery. People from the general public who want to know more about heart disease also are welcome to attend. It meets at the hospital on the third Tuesday of the month at 4 p.m.
