Senior Companion Program

Serving our seniors and younger disabled neighbors in Linn, Benton and Lincoln counties

Are you interested in helping your elderly and younger disabled neighbors? Would you like to assist people in their goals of living independently? Would you like to know if you qualify for a tax free hourly stipend for your services?

If you become a Senior Companion, you will help the elderly and younger disabled by:

  • Providing companionship, talking, listening, sharing experiences, playing games or cards, etc.
  • Helping to keep clients in contact with family, friends and the outside world
  • Providing transportation to medical appointments, the grocery store, social events, other household and personal errands
  • Assisting clients to live independently with dignity
  • Being a friend.

Consider joining the Senior Companion Program and making a difference today!

A Senior Companion:

  • Is 60 years of age and older
  • Has a yearly physical evaluation, TB testing and flu shots
  • Receives supplemental liability insurance
  • May receive a tax-free hourly stipend, if income guidelines qualify
  • Receives pre-service and ongoing monthly companion training and yearly driver safety training
  • Receives mileage reimbursement and meals.

Senior Companions are helping hundreds of frail elderly and younger disabled neighbors stay in their own familiar surroundings for as long as safely possible. There are thousands of others who need help and assistance in order to live at home.

We need your help!
