This spring, the Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center cafeteria will receive a remodel and upgrade to better suit the dietary needs of patients, visitors and staff. This remodel is funded by Sodexo, the food services organization that has served the hospital for almost four decades.
“We are very appreciative that Sodexo is making these improvements for our hospital and our community,” said Scott Wilson, Vice-President of Ancillary and Clinical Support Services for Good Sam. “Though I have always thought we had a nice cafeteria, these upgrades will create an even nicer place to take a break and enjoy a meal, and I am excited about offering a wider variety of healthy food options.”
Starting at 7:30 p.m., after dinner on Friday, March 21 and continuing through early May, the project will result a warm, inviting cafeteria offering exciting new features like:
• Wider variety of healthy food options
• Decreased wait times
• Improved atmosphere
• Increased seating
• Easy-to-use health tracking technology
During the remodel, visitors and staff are invited to conference rooms A & B for full service meals, grab and go options and western barbeques held at lunchtime each Wednesday and Friday. The Garden View Café, located in the heart center wing on the first floor, will continue to be open during construction, and will also serve midnight meals from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m.
Throughout the project, seating in the cafeteria and conference rooms may be limited at times. Additional seating will be offered on the patios and healing garden.
Meanwhile, with the upgrade comes a new name – Valley View Cafeteria. The new name, the result of a contest and voting by hospital staff, was submitted by the Endoscopy Department.
