Lebanon hospital to host Diabetes Prevention class starting June 11

East Linn County residents diagnosed with pre-diabetes or similar conditions can benefit from a free eight-week class at Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital.

The hospital’s Diabetes Education team will begin its next Diabetes Prevention class on Wednesday, June 11, from 1 to 2 p.m. The weekly class will run for eight Wednesdays, concluding on July 30. Topics include weight loss, healthy eating, exercise and other lifestyle changes that will help people avoid a diagnosis of diabetes.

In addition, the team facilitates a monthly support group for anyone diagnosed with diabetes, pre-diabetes or similar conditions. The group meets the first Monday of every month – unless the first Monday is a holiday.

The next group meeting will be Monday, June 2, from 11 a.m. to noon at the hospital. Tiffany Wadlow, RN, will lead a discussion about stress management at this meeting.

Pre-registration is required for the Diabetes Prevention class and the support group.
To register for either, call 541-451-6313.
