Join A Caring Partnership today for cancer services

Golfers and anyone interested in fitness events for a cause, can have fun and raise money for cancer services this summer through the “A Caring Partnership” and “Real Men Wear Pink” events.

The partnership, a program of the Springhill Women’s Association, raises funds for the Samaritan Cancer Resource Center in North Albany. The partnership has raised $76,000 for the center over the past six years, through golf tournaments and events at Fitness Experience in Albany.

This year’s events include:
  • Fit-a-thon on Saturday, July 12 at Fitness Experience, 1715 Hill Street SE. This event will include a spin-a-thon from 8 to 9:30 a.m.; a senior walk from 9 to 10 a.m.; Zumbathon from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.; Cross-Fit classes at 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.; live music and food.   • Men’s “Real Men Wear Pink” golf tournament on Monday, July 21 at Trysting Tree Golf Club, 34028 Electric Road in Corvallis. Registration starts at noon and shotgun start is at 1 p.m. Fee is $80 per player or $320 per team including lunch. Registration forms are available online at
  • Women’s “A Caring Partnership” golf tournament on Thursday, July 31 at Trysting Tree. Registration starts at 7 a.m. with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Fee is $80 per player or $320 per team including lunch. Registration forms are available online at
  • “A Caring Partnership” luncheon on Thursday, July 31 at 1 p.m. at Trysting Tree. Non-golfers can attend for $25. Sign up by calling Stephanie Hagerty, director of the Samaritan Cancer Resource Center, at 541-812-5880.
All proceeds will go through the Albany General Hospital Foundation to the Samaritan cancer resource center to help women and men of Linn and Benton counties, with financial assistance as patients undergo cancer treatment.

The center, located at 400 NW Hickory Street in Albany, includes a cancer information library, support groups, transportation assistance, wigs and headwear, and consultation with dietitians and other healthcare professionals. Click here to learn more.
