Lebanon hospital to host Safe Sitter training in August

Kids from 11 to 13 years old, who are interested in babysitting work, can learn all they need to know at a Safe Sitter class this summer at Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital.

The hospital’s next class will take place on Friday, Aug. 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Cost is $50, which includes an instruction manual, a messenger bag and other supplies. Hospital employees Roxie Snyder and Jessica Lybarger, certified program instructors, will lead the classes.

Safe Sitter is a nationally recognized babysitter education program, developed in 1980 by a pediatrician who was recognized by the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Upon completion, each student will receive a completion card. They will also have access to an online newsletter which features a babysitting survey, tips and activities to do when babysitting.

Pre-registration is required by Friday, Aug. 8. To register, or for more information, call 541-451-7047.
