Samaritan Welcomes Oncologist Dr. Jonathan Gross

The Samaritan Cancer Program is pleased to welcome Dr. Jonathan Gross who will provide cancer care in Newport and Lincoln City locations. 

Dr. Gross earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of California-Davis and a medical degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine. He completed residency training in internal medicine at Virginia Mason Medical Center and fellowships in medical oncology at the University of Nevada School of Medicine and Medical University of South Carolina.

“During my adolescence I witnessed my mother struggle through chemotherapy, and I developed a sincere compassion to those who face cancer,” said Dr. Gross. “She received remarkable care, and I too strive to provide exceptional cancer care.”

“I am excited to join the Samaritan Cancer Program in caring for the members of our community who face such a formidable foe,” said Dr. Gross, who recently relocated from Charleston, South Carolina to Lincoln City with his wife Karen and two young sons, Lucas and Jacob.

“I feel there is no greater honor than to be allowed to participate in the care of another.” Dr. Gross is board certified and takes a special interest in quality improvement and team-based medicine.

In his free time, he enjoys biking, scuba diving with his wife and playing sports with his sons.
