Free skin cancer screening in Newport

More than 1 million Americans are diagnosed with skin cancer every year. Your skin can be exposed to harmful ultraviolet rays, even if it’s not sunny outside.

A free skin cancer screening will be held on Saturday, May 30, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Samaritan Pacific Internal Medicine, located at 1010 SW Coast Hwy, Suite 201 in Newport. The screening is open to anyone in the community, especially those who spend time outside.

Registration is required and appointments fill up quickly. Call 1-888-873-9547 to register. Screenings will be provided by board-certified dermatologists who will look for skin abnormalities, which may help find cancer in its early — and most treatable — stage.

The screening is sponsored by Samaritan Cancer Program. Services are provided by Adriana Brune, MD, Kyle Horner, MD, and Patricia O’Hare, MD.
