Gopal earned a bachelor’s degree and a medical degree from the University of Missouri, Kansas City, and a master’s degree in public health from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. He completed residency training at Carle Foundation Hospital, where he went on to become director of the residency program.
In addition to providing primary care to patients of all ages, Gopal also performs simple outpatient dermatology treatments, joint injections and trigger point injections for muscle pain.
“I am passionate about teaching family medicine to resident physicians,” he said. “I am pleased to join an organization that does an excellent job of training the next generation of physicians.”
Gopal said he was inspired to become a doctor to help people take better care of their health. His interest in wellness and prevention led him to teaching the tenets of family medicine.
In his free time, Gopal enjoys reading and spending time with his wife and two children. He and his family are looking forward to their new adventure in Oregon.
As an attending physician, Gopal will oversee medical residents at Samaritan Family Medicine Resident Clinic. For more information call 541-768-5142.
