The approximately 90 thousand square foot building will accommodate more than 300 employees with ample parking. This purchase will alleviate critical parking issues and tight office quarters currently experienced at Samaritan Square, formerly known as Avery Square and the Cannery Mall.
“Samaritan Health Services continues to expand and the purchase of the CH2M Hill building will allow us to make better use of our administrative and clinical space while taking advantage of an existing building in the community,” stated Samaritan Health Services President and Chief Executive Officer Larry Mullins, DHA, FACHE.
Currently, 800 employees work within Samaritan Square and close to half of them will move to the new building. During this transition, employees will be allowed to park at the Walnut building and use a shuttle service to Samaritan Square.
Mullins said the Samaritan Square facilities will also undergo some remodeling as employees are relocated to the Walnut building, which has not yet been named.
“We envision that Samaritan Square will continue to house a number of support services as well as health-related retail operations and physician clinics,” Mullins said. “We want to conveniently co-locate a variety of health services that individuals need.”
