Samaritan Pediatric Clinics to Host Shriners Screenings

Kids who might be in need of specialized care at a Shriners hospital can receive a free screening at one of the Samaritan Health Services pediatric clinics in September or October.

No appointment is necessary at any of the screenings. Schedule is as follows:
  • Corvallis: Thursday, Sept. 17, 9 a.m. to noon
Samaritan Pediatrics, 777 NW Ninth Street, Suite 320
  • Albany: Thursday, Sept. 24, 9 a.m. to noon
    Mid-Valley Children’s Clinic, 734 Elm Street SW
  • Lebanon: Thursday, Oct. 1, 9 a.m. to noon
    Mid-Valley Pediatrics, 675 N 5th Street

The Linn and Benton County Shrine clubs will co-host the screenings, with the goal of screening kids up to 18 years of age with orthopedic conditions, burns or scars. Samaritan-affiliated pediatricians will conduct the screenings and determine if the child should be seen at the Shriners Hospital for Children in Portland where they would be eligible to receive treatment at no charge.

In addition, members of the Shrine clubs and local Masonic lodges will offer child identification packets to parents. These packets will consist of pictures and fingerprints, which will be taken on-site. Parents will be able to take their child’s identification packet home with them at the end of the screening.

Snacks will be provided for the kids and parents while they wait to see a physician.
