Pears are a delicious crop at the end of summer and the beginning of fall, and the Willamette Valley boasts several different varieties.

Pick some up today for your salads, or to bake in a crisp. Pears also dehydrate well, and they make a great snack when they’re fresh. They’re a great source of vitamin C, fiber and potassium, without any fat and only a few calories.
