Manuela earned a bachelor’s degree in vocational education from San Diego State University, and a nursing degree from Mount St. Mary’s College. She completed a nursing residency in pediatrics at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, and earned a degree as a family nurse practitioner from Western University of Health Sciences.
Before becoming a nurse, Manuela worked in the disability field. She said her favorite part of her job is getting to know her patients.
“I am extremely lucky to spend my days chatting with friends - my patients - and helping them to live healthier lives,” Manuela said.
She emphasizes the mind-body connection and the benefits that therapies such as deep breathing, meditation, Qi Gong and yoga can provide.
“I routinely explore these options with my patients to complement their existing health care choices.”
Manuela fell in love with the Central Oregon Coast while exploring the Pacific Northwest. She chose to join Samaritan because it provides comprehensive health care with a focus on encouraging healthy lifestyles. In her free time, she enjoys taking long walks with her dog and her husband.
