Classes, Events and Screenings The Heart of Touch: The Importance of Infant Skin-to-Skin Contact

Midwife Angie Chisholm of Samaritan Obstetrics & Gynecology is making a film that aims to improve maternity care by promoting skin-to-skin contact between babies and parents.

Evidence shows that skin-to-skin contact impacts everything from feeding, to bonding, to brain and immune development.

Chisholm delivers babies at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center and has played an integral role in improving access to skin-to-skin care in standard deliveries; but also in situations like Cesarean-section deliveries, adoption and surrogacy.
