Cornish earned a bachelor’s degree at University of California, Los Angeles, and a medical degree from Juarez Autonomous University. He completed residency training in family medicine at Marshall University School of Medicine where he served as chief resident, and an internship at RE Thomason General Hospital at Texas Tech University.
He comes to Lincoln City after seeing patients in private practices in Durango, Colorado, Beaufort, South Carolina, and, most recently, Tucson, Arizona. Over the years, he has served in many roles as physician advisor to corrections facilities, emergency departments, safe houses and developmentally disabled programs. He was also the medical director for the drug and alcohol unit for several years.
Cornish is fluent in Spanish and French, and welcomes patients who speak these languages also.
Away from the office, Cornish enjoys hiking, biking and reading historical biographies. He has traveled extensively, living in Mexico, France and Belgium. He said the Oregon Coast is one of the best places he’s been.
“I look forward to working in a small-town atmosphere,” Cornish said.
