Press Release Samaritan Heart Vascular Institute Welcomes Physician Assistant

The Cardiovascular Surgery Department at Samaritan Heart & Vascular Institute welcomes Physician Assistant Kathryn Thickman.

Kathryn comes to Samaritan from Kaiser Permanente in Modesto, California, where she served as the senior physician assistant, assisting surgeons with vascular and thoracic surgeries.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from the University of New Hampshire, a bachelor’s degree in public health and a master’s degree in physician assistant studies from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. In her role as physician assistant, Kathryn helps care for patients before, during and after cardiovascular and cardiothoracic surgeries.

“I look forward to further developing my cardiac and thoracic surgical skills here in Corvallis,” Kathryn said. In her free time, Kathryn enjoys hiking, camping, taking photographs and spending time with her family.
