Classes, Events and Screenings Plant the Seed to Better Health at Samaritan Diabetes Day

Samaritan Health Services invites the public to learn more about healthy living at the second annual Diabetes Day on Saturday, April 23 from 8 a.m. to noon. This free symposium will take place at Boulder Falls Center, 605 Mullins Drive in Lebanon.

Priya Krishnamurthy, MD, an endocrinologist with Premier Endocrinology Associates in Salem, will lead the free event with a talk on “What’s change got to do with it – why we struggle.” Breakout sessions will include information about new diabetes medications from Sarah Swarts, MD, Samaritan Endocrinology; a talk on the healthy aspects of gardening with Brooke Edmunds, PhD, Oregon State University Extension Service; and a roundtable discussion with Samaritan diabetes educators from Albany, Corvallis and Lebanon.

The event will also feature snacks, door prizes and vendors with diabetes-related information and services.
