Certified Physician Assistant Bradley Newhart has joined the Cardiology Department at Samaritan Heart & Vascular Institute.
Newhart comes to Samaritan with over 14 years of clinical experience, most recently hailing from Harbor View Medical Center in Seattle, Washington, where he worked as a physician assistant in the neurosurgery and critical care departments. Before earning his bachelor’s degree from the physician assistant program at the University of Washington MEDEX in Anchorage, Alaska, Newhart served as a treatment sergeant for the United States Army. During his military service, he provided medical care on the front lines, with two deployments to Iraq as an infantry combat medic and squad leader.
“Modern medicine requires teamwork and navigating multiple health care disciplines,” Newhart said. “I became a physician assistant because I feel I am well-suited to coordinating care and advocating for patients. I’m looking forward to shifting gears and focusing on preventive health measures and healthy lifestyle promotion with our cardiology patients.”
Newhart and his wife, who grew up in Newport, are excited to move to the area with their 5-month-old daughter.
“This is a great environment in which to focus on family and raise our daughter,” Newhart said. “We were struck by how kind and motivated everyone with Samaritan is. We think this will be a good fit for us.”
He is ready to enjoy the natural wonders of the Pacific Northwest, and in his free time, he enjoys backcountry skiing, hiking, surfing and playing guitar.
