Samaritan Neurosurgery welcomes Wael Ghacham, MD, an orthopedic spine surgeon.
Ghacham earned his medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine. He completed orthopedic surgery residency training at Henry Ford Hospital and an orthopedic spine surgery fellowship at William Beaumont Hospital. He is fluent in English and Arabic.
Orthopedic spine surgery focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of spinal diseases and conditions such as degenerative disorders, fractures and deformities. Ghacham’s clinical and research interests include cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine disorders, spinal stenosis and disc disease, spinal reconstruction and minimally invasive spine surgery. This highly specialized service is offered in partnership with the surgical team at Samaritan Neurosurgery.
“My decision to pursue a career in spinal surgery started early in residency. I found it to be a fascinating, complex and rewarding field,” said Ghacham. “The technical challenges of surgery as well as the clinical decision-making greatly appeal to me.”
Ghacham is dedicated to improving the quality of life of his patients.
“I want to give my patients all the treatment options available to them, and sometimes this includes surgery, but only as the last option,” he said.
In his free time, Ghacham enjoys biking, hiking, cooking and working out. He and his wife recently moved to the area and look forward to exploring the Willamette Valley.
As part of Samaritan Neurosurgery, Ghacham sees patients by referral in Corvallis. He can be reached at 541-768-4501.
