Breast cancer is the second highest cause of cancer-related deaths in women, affecting an average of one in eight women at some point in their lifetime. Early detection is vital to successful treatment. Early detection is also key to detecting changes in the cervix that can be treated before cancer develops.
The Women’s Cancer Coalition helps low-income, uninsured and underserved women in Benton, Lincoln and Linn counties gain access to life-saving screening programs for early detection of breast and cervical cancers.
Donations to the Women’s Cancer Coalition can be made through the Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation at samhealth.org/GSHF.
