Lebanon Hospital to Host Emergency Department Open House

By Ian Rollins

Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital will hold a public open house in its new Emergency Department space on Thursday, Aug. 3, from 4 to 6 p.m., before the new space is put into service for patient care.

The open house will take place in phase 2 of the hospital’s Emergency/Surgery expansion project, which began in 2015 and will conclude in early 2018. Phase 2 features a new Emergency waiting room and eight new single-patient treatment rooms.

Visitors at the open house will be able to tour the new rooms and meet the Emergency Department staff. Snacks and prize drawings also will be available.

Phase 3, the final phase, will begin later in August with the renovation of the current Emergency Department. Once complete, the full department will feature 21 private treatment rooms, including two trauma rooms and three rooms for patients needing extra supervision.

The first phase of the project – construction of the hospital’s new Surgery and Same Day Care departments – opened last fall.

Total project cost is $11 million. The Lebanon Community Hospital Foundation is raising $2 million toward the overall cost. For more information about making a gift toward this campaign, call Betty Koehn, foundation director, at 541-451-7063.
