News Diabetes Classes in Spanish to Start in Albany

Starting in October, the Diabetes Education team at Samaritan Albany General Hospital will offer comprehensive diabetes education classes to the community’s Spanish-speaking population.

The classes will be on Thursdays from Oct. 5 through Oct. 26, from 1 to 3 p.m. A Spanish interpreter will be present and the classes will be taught by both a nurse and dietitian.

Topics will include an overview of diabetes, blood glucose monitoring, exercise, nutrition, medication, short and long term complications and stress management. Insurance will be billed for the class.
