Half-Marathon Workshop Set for February


Considering training for the 2018 Corvallis Half-Marathon, but don’t know where to begin? Or maybe you have questions about your training plan or are looking for a group to keep you accountable.

Join the athletic medicine team at Samaritan Athletic Medicine, known as The SAM, on Thursday, Feb. 1, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., for a free running workshop highlighting the most important practices to embrace and avoid when training for a half-marathon.

Topics will include:

  • Running form and best practices
  • Home-based strength and mobility training to reduce the likelihood of training injuries
  • Pre-race nutrition guidelines
  • Training resources and opportunities

The free training workshop will kick off weekly running groups to help you train to reach maximum performance just in time for the Corvallis Half-Marathon in April. Run alongside The SAM’s elite physical therapists, get free running tips and ask questions about your training and ability.

Healthy snacks and beverages will be provided. Pre-registration is required as space is limited.

The event is now full but you’re still invited to join our free group running sessions.  Just come to The SAM every Thursday shortly before noon and sign in and run with our pros!
