Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital is beginning a Request for Proposal process seeking art to furnish the 126,000-square-foot new building by its anticipated completion in late 2019.

The hospital will purchase art, as well as accept donations from both artists and collectors, to furnish the new hospital lobbies, hallways, waiting areas, conference rooms and patient exam rooms.

Priority will be given to artists residing in Lincoln County. Artists with a strong connection to the county will also be considered.

Additionally, all artwork selected must be suitable for a healing environment, incorporate nature themes, particularly with regional imagery, and comply with infection control procedures.

Guidelines for submissions, as well as the proposal form, can be downloaded here. At present, only proposals are being accepted.

Deadline to submit proposals, including photos of the artwork available, should be sent to the SPCH Art Advisory Committee at NewportHospitalArt@samhealth.org no later than Monday, April 2, 2018. Artists will be notified of award determinations this summer.
