For those struggling to manage their diabetes, a new monthly support group has started in Newport. The group meets the first Tuesday of each month, 5 to 6 p.m., at the Center for Health Education, 740 SW Ninth St., Newport.
Led by the diabetes educators from Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital, the group offers participants a safe place to discuss their struggles with the disease, peer-to-peer, get answers to their questions and learn about various topics related to diabetes.
Each month features guest speakers discussing topics such as exercise, hearing loss, insulin resistance, stress management, sleep issues, nutrition tips and more.
The support group is free, and open to anyone with diabetes and their families. Registration is not required. If you have questions about the group call 541-574-4682.
