Samaritan Family Medicine Resident Clinic – Lebanon welcomes new physician Gina Martin, MD to its team of providers.
A native of Cottage Grove, Dr. Martin earned a bachelor’s degree from Oregon State University followed by a medical degree from Oregon Health & Science University. She completed a residency with St. Mary’s Family Medicine in Grand Junction, Colorado.
Dr. Martin speaks Spanish and has lived in three Spanish-speaking countries, where she has been able to practice her bilingual skills in a medical setting.
“I helped provide service to a remote community and diagnosed a case of leprosy while I was living in Mexico,” she said. “It was quite the learning experience.”
Dr. Martin chose Samaritan because of the organization’s investment into its communities and commitment to excellent patient care.
“It was clear from my first interview that Samaritan strives to fulfill its mission of ‘building healthier communities together,’ and I wanted to be a part of the team,” she said. “And I can’t wait to start teaching the family medicine residents how to interact with patients, not just to focus on knowledge. I want to ensure that our residents are equipped to practice with the diverse populations that they will encounter in remote areas of Oregon.”
Away from the clinic, Dr. Martin enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and playing disc golf.
Dr. Martin can be reached for an appointment by calling 541-451-6960.
