New Physician Joins Samaritan Clinic in Newport

By Tricia Schug

Osteopathic physician Rachel Bailey, DO, has joined Samaritan Health Center – Newport. She is now seeing patients of all ages.

As a primary care physician specializing in care for the whole family, Bailey also does minor skin procedures, gynecological exams and osteopathic manipulative therapy or OMT. She brings a strong desire to help people.

Bailey and her young family recently relocated to the area from Longmont, Colorado.

“I am excited about the opportunity to meet people and provide advice and care. I am proud to be a part of this community and health care team,” Bailey said.

She began her career in health care as a certified nursing assistant in a nursing home and worked her way through college and medical school. Bailey received a bachelor’s degree in biology from Winona State University and a medical degree from West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. She comes to Newport after seeing patients at an urgent care clinic in Colorado for the past three years.

In her free time, Bailey enjoys spending time with her family and going for walks in nature, especially the beach.
