Local mom Alicen already had two sick kids at home from the flu when she started to feel the symptoms herself. Rather than struggle to load everyone into the car for a trip to the doctor’s office, she hopped on the computer to try an E-Visit offered by Samaritan Health Services.
E-Visits are quick, secure online appointments that connect you with a Samaritan provider from the comfort of your own home or office. In Alicen’s situation, the convenience of getting the care she needed from home played a big role in her decision.
“It was perfect for me,” Alicen explained. “I was pretty sure I had the flu since my kids had already been diagnosed, and the convenience of being able to get the treatment I needed without having to bring everyone down to the office was huge.”
E-Visits are available through the MyChart Patient Portal for non-urgent medical conditions, including back pain, cold, flu, sinus problems and much more.
“I explained my symptoms through the questionnaire,” Alicen said. “The doctor contacted me with a treatment plan and I was able to get a Tamiflu prescription and the care I needed without any extra trouble.”
