Diabetes Day Offers Look at Past Shaping the Future

Samaritan Health Services invites the public to learn more about the history and future of diabetes care at the annual Diabetes Day on Saturday, April 13 from 8 a.m. to noon. This free symposium will take place at the Linn County Fair & Expo Center, 3700 Knox Butte Road E in Albany.

Bharat Gopal, MD, a family medicine physician with Samaritan Family Medicine Resident Clinic in Corvallis, will give a keynote speech on Diabetes Care in the 21st Century: What We’ve Learned and Where We’re Going. Alan Silver, PsyD, behavioral health specialist with Samaritan Medical Clinics – North Albany, will give a closing presentation on Diabetes Distress: Identification and Management.

Other presentations will include:

  • Nutrition in the 21st Century: Learning from the Past for a Healthy Future
  • Technology: Plugged-in Diabetes, Present and Future
  • Exercise and Activity in the 21st Century: Moving Forward with Technology 

Snacks, vendors and door prizes will also be available.
