Gwyn Mahony, DO, has joined Samaritan Internal Medicine and Samaritan Pediatrics. Dr. Mahony provides primary health care services. She is accepting new patients at both locations.
Dr. Mahony earned a bachelor’s degree at the University of California San Diego and a master’s degree from Touro University California. She completed her medical degree at College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific-Northwest where she twice received the community advocate award. She completed residency training at St. Anthony North Family Medicine, including extra training in women’s health and integrative medicine, such as alternative medicines and modalities.
Dr. Mahony grew up in a rural, medically underserved community in Northern California. Her childhood experiences made her want to become a doctor.
“I am passionate about serving communities in need of medical care,” she said. “I also love working with others, so getting to do both is ideal.”
Prior to joining Samaritan, she worked at urgent care clinics in Miami and at a hospital in Colorado. She is eager to return to Corvallis where she lived when she was in medical school.
“There is a great sense of community,” she said. “I see lots of opportunities to continue learning and growing my practice.”
Dr. Mahony has a special interest in women’s health, family planning, and skin evaluations and biopsies.
In her free time, Dr. Mahony enjoys cooking, dancing, traveling, yoga and spending time outdoors.
