Preethi Ilangovan, MD, has joined Samaritan Endocrinology. Dr. Ilangovan diagnoses and treats disorders and diseases of the endocrine system, including diabetes and thyroid conditions. She also sees patients at Samaritan Specialty Clinic – Lebanon.
She earned a medical degree at Stanley Medical College. She completed residency training at University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School and a fellowship at Harbor‑UCLA Medical Center.
Dr. Ilangovan’s father was a physician, and he was her initial inspiration for becoming a doctor. Since then, she has discovered her own passion for helping people, regardless of circumstance.
“Helping people lead healthier lives makes my work very fulfilling,” she said.
Dr. Ilangovan is approachable and wants her patients to feel comfortable. Her approach to care is to understand and know her patients so they feel empowered to make positive changes in their lives.
“Providing personalized patient therapy is important to me,” she said.
She chose Samaritan because the health system’s values – passion, respect, integrity, dedication and excellence – match her own.
“I believe that integrity and empathy add significant value and can make an impact,” she said.
In her free time, Dr. Ilangovan enjoys abstract painting and spending time with her daughter.
She is accepting new patients and can be reached by calling Samaritan Endocrinology at 541‑768‑7900.
