Megan Gause, DO, has joined Samaritan Medical Group Geriatric Medicine. Dr. Gause sees patients living in care facilities in Lebanon, Albany and Corvallis.
She earned a bachelor’s degree at the University of Oklahoma and a medical degree at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine – Carolinas. She completed residency training at Fort Collins Family Practice Residency Program and a fellowship in geriatrics at the University of Colorado.
Dr. Gause has always wanted to be a physician, like her grandfather.
“The connections he made and the way that he touched people’s lives made him feel very fulfilled. His face would light up when he talked about caring for patients,” she said.
She chose to specialize in geriatric medicine because of the patient-centered approach to care.
“I love hearing the incredible stories that my patients have to share,” Dr. Gause said.
In her free time, she enjoys walking in her neighborhood, hiking, biking, rock climbing and cuddling her senior dogs.
“I also enjoy being my husband’s sous chef for all the delicious meals he cooks,” she said.
