Family Nurse Practitioner Erin Fitzgerald has joined Samaritan Evergreen Hospice. She is part of an interdisciplinary team that works together to meet the physical, psychosocial and spiritual needs of patients at the end of life.
She earned a bachelor’s degree at Linfield College and a master’s in nursing at Walden University.
She has worked in nursing for more than 30 years, most of them in hospice and palliative care.
“I have a real passion for focusing on the quality of life,” she said. “For me, that means nurturing positive relationships.”
Fitzgerald was impressed with the importance that Samaritan places on quality patient care and the professionalism of staff.
She has lived in Oregon most of her life. She is married and has children and grandchildren.
Away from the office, Fitzgerald enjoys traveling, camping, boating and gardening.
“I grow fresh produce and herbs to feed my joy of cooking,” she said.
