About Mount Jefferson

The second highest peak in Oregon on Mount Jefferson’s summit requires class four to five rock climbing and is considered by some to be the most difficult of higher volcanoes.

The mountain was named for President Thomas Jefferson by the Lewis and Clark Expedition and was the only high Cascade Mountain named on the expedition.
