Innovation, Commitment and Collaboration

Our Family Medicine Residency is a young and dynamic family medicine program. We value innovation, commitment, passion for primary care and a culture of collaboration. We recognize that the landscape for training physicians is constantly changing, now more than ever, and we aim to remain adaptable while striving for excellence. We understand that prospective family physicians want to train in an environment where they can look up to their peers and are constantly pushed by classmates and senior residents.

This is a three-year (36-month) osteopathic and allopathic post-graduate program. The program is an American Osteopathic Association approved residency based at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis, Oregon.

Our Family Medicine Residency features a rigorous and comprehensive curriculum with a wide spectrum of hands-on clinical experience. Samaritan’s Family Medicine residents welcome their own patient panels at clinics throughout the mid-Willamette Valley.

What Our Residents Say

"I came to Samaritan for mainly one reason: my co-residents. It really does feel like I have known this group for a long time and I feel completely at home with them, not to mention the amazing attendings and work staff. This program provides the perfect place for me to learn not only the necessities, but also to expand my OMT skills and let me follow personal interests through my training."
Justin Bruno, DO, class of 2018

I love the community/family feel of the program. Residency is tough for any specialty, in any location. Here in Corvallis you can focus on learning because you know you’re supported by a great group of residents and faculty."
Jessica Sanders, DO, class of 2017

Samaritan Family Medicine was my top choice for residency because of the outstanding vibe I got and continue to feel everyday from the amazing faculty and fellow residents who are drawn to this place. Natural beauty, truly an outdoor enthusiast’s playground, is the backdrop to an osteopathically distinct family medicine residency program with strong inpatient and outpatient training that was the perfect fit."
Andrew Smythe, DO, class of 2017

As a medical student, I rotated with Samaritan Family Medicine Residency and immediately knew it was the right fit for me. I was educationally encouraged and individually supported. As a resident, they’ve allowed me to flourish, following my personal medical aspirations."
