Program Curriculum

PGY 1: 4-week blocks

• General surgery, plastic surgery, gastroenterology, emergency medicine and anesthesia.

PGY 2: 4-week blocks

• General surgery, surgical ICU, trauma and acute care, burn, vascular, bariatric and breast surgery.

PGY 3: 4-week blocks

• General surgery, trauma and acute care, vascular, cardiothoracic, pediatric, bariatric and HPB surgery as well as research.

PGY 4: 4-week blocks

• General surgery, trauma and acute care, vascular, bariatric and transplant surgery as well as an elective.

PGY 5: 4-week blocks

• General surgery, trauma and acute care, vascular, bariatric and breast surgery.

Outside Rotations & Experience

Samaritan Albany General Hospital

• General surgery rotation at a smaller community hospital.

Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital, Newport

• Endoscopy experience with David Larsen, MD.

Legacy Emanuel Medical Center, Portland

• Pediatric surgery, trauma, surgical ICU and burn.

OHSU Hospital, Portland

• Hepatobiliary surgery and transplant surgery.
