Welcome to Samaritan Early Learning Center

Children are natural explorers, adventurers and learners who thrive with caring adult support and encouragement.

At Samaritan Early Learning Center, we create fun learning experiences for infants, toddlers and children with activities that reflect their developmental stage.

Serving the children and families of Lincoln City and north Lincoln County for the past three decades, we opened our new learning center just south of Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital in 2011. The building is specifically designed to meet the developmental and educational needs of young children in a bright and lively setting, both indoors and out.

In 2015, Samaritan Early Learning Center’s commitment to quality was recognized with a five-star rating, the highest quality rating possible from Oregon’s Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS). To date, we are the only QRIS top-rated infant/toddler preschool program in Lincoln County and the entire northern and central Oregon coast!

Five-Star QRIS Rating

In 2015, our commitment to quality was recognized with a five-star rating, the highest quality rating possible from Oregon’s Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS).

To date, we are the only QRIS top-rated infant/toddler preschool program in Lincoln County and the entire north and central Oregon coast!

What does it mean to be a five-star rated center?

Children need a strong foundation in their earliest years when the brain is growing rapidly. In a warm, nurturing and supportive environment, children can develop the language skills, cognitive functioning, social skills and emotional wellbeing to help them succeed when they reach kindergarten and beyond.

The QRIS rating ensures that we:

  • Use best practices in adult/child interactions
  • Encourage parents to take an active role

  • Have a well-educated leader

  • Employ well-educated staff
  • Regularly evaluate employees using observations

  • Provide employment benefits to staff

  • Support staff professional development

  • Use accepted curriculum

  • Perform child development assessments

  • Document and teach to children’s learning levels

Immunization & Exemption Rate

By law, we must share our immunization and exception rates twice a year, once around the beginning of the school year and again around Exclusion Day, which is always the third Wednesday in February.

The goal is for least 95% of children to be immunized for community protection, though the percentage varies by disease. When 95% of children are vaccinated in a school or child care facility, this significantly reduces the chance of spreading the disease among vulnerable individuals.

We are pleased to report that Samaritan Early Learning Center has a 95% immunization rate for DTaP, polio, varicella, MMR1, hepatitis B, hepatitis A and HiB for our enrolled students ages 19 months through prekindergarten.

We have a 5% non-medical exemption rate for polio, varicella, measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, hepatitis A and HiB.
