Support Local Treatment & Recovery Services

Substance use disorder in our country and in the state of Oregon is a national health crisis. Not only is there a high financial cost, but there is an even higher human cost, as hundreds of thousands of Oregonians struggle with substance use disorder. It isn’t “somebody else’s problem.” Two out of three Oregonians are either addicted or have an addicted person in their lives. Oregon ranks sixth in the nation for substance use disorder and Linn County ranks seventh in Oregon for addiction. It has become apparent that the need in Oregon is greater than the services available. In fact, federal studies have shown Oregon is ranked 51st in access to treatment for adults struggling with addiction (these studies include the District of Columbia along with all 50 states).

To help serve this need, Samaritan Foundations successfully raised $4 million to build a new alcohol and drug treatment facility. Thanks to your gifts, Samaritan Health Services will be able to expand local services by providing both inpatient and outpatient treatment services at the facility. Located in Lebanon, the $4 million 16-bed philanthropic project will serve residents of Oregon through the state’s addiction services program. The center will offer treatment to any adult 18 years old or older, and will be conveniently situated for quick access to Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital.

A fund to support ongoing program and operational needs has been established with the Lebanon Community Hospital Foundation. For more information about giving opportunities, contact Lebanon Community Hospital Foundation Executive Director Brandy O’Bannon at or 541-451-7063.
