Samaritan Evergreen Hospice
What: Hospice is a philosophy of care for people of all ages in the last stages of terminal illness.
When: Comforting care during the final days of the patient’s life and support for family members during and after their passing.
Where: Patients may stay wherever they call home until their final days. In addition, the Samaritan Evergreen Hospice House offers a “home” where patients can stay. Located in Albany, it is one of only three inpatient hospice facilities in Oregon.
Why: With a focus on patient comfort, hospice provides resources to manage symptoms and give respite to caregivers. The hospice care team provides seamless coordination with other medical providers.

- For hospice program and house: $500,000.
Foundations:
- Hospice Program – All Samaritan foundations.
“It was one of the most profound experiences of my entire life.”
