Targeting Depression Medications to Your Needs

Samaritan Mental Health Family Center in Corvallis is proud to offer cutting-edge PEER Online™ for depression and other mental health conditions. PEER Online helps find the right medication for you.

If you’re currently taking medication for depression and not seeing results, we can help. We’re one of just two mental health clinics in Oregon to offer PEER Online and the only one to provide this service to teens.

PEER Online helps doctors to compare treatments and results to recommend treatment that has the best chance of helping you.

With Peer Online, we compare your brainwaves to a database of brainwave test results. The results have been matched with treatments found to help people with that brainwave pattern. Your doctor can use the report to help guide your treatment choices.

How PEER Online Works

Consultation
We will talk with your doctor about your needs. You will need to be off medications for the brainwave testing. You must work with your doctor to safely stop your current medications so that you may be tested. Our staff will assist you and your doctor in deciding which medications must be stopped, and for how long, before the test.

Brainwave recording
There is usually no pain while your brain waves are recorded and there is no need to shave your head. The test records the electrical activity in your brain. The results of the test are used to create a report. This report is usually provided to your doctor within 48 hours.

Review of results
The results will be reviewed by a doctor at Samaritan Mental Health Family Center or by your primary care doctor. We are happy to work with your primary care doctor and review the results together.

Follow up
As with any treatment, regular follow up is important. You will be asked to fill out forms at each visit to help guide your treatment.
