The Center for Health Education in Newport will host a live simulcast of the 2017 Breast Cancer Issues Conference as it occurs in Portland. The yearly conference provides survivors, support teams, and health care professionals the opportunity to learn from leading oncologists, doctors, researchers and fellow survivors. Topics include emerging research and treatment options, breast cancer risk reduction and quality of life issues. Keynote speaker is David B. Page, MD, medical oncologist with Providence Cancer Center, who will discuss current investigations into immunotherapies that can treat breast cancer. Special guest Dean Shrock, PhD, mind-body researcher, will be at the Center for Health Education, discussing techniques that can improve quality and length of life. The simulcast event is free, but registration is required. CEUs are available for $35.
