Join the Effort!

Efficiently vaccinating our communities is a large effort, and we would appreciate the help of community volunteers. Licensed medical professionals and non-medical volunteers can serve in roles varying from greeting and traffic control to screening for potential adverse reactions and administering vaccines.

Medical volunteers 

Medical professionals are needed to screen patients at check-in, administer the vaccinations and observe patients afterward for any potential adverse reaction. If you have training for one of the positions below, we need your help in this important effort!

  • Physician.
  • Medical resident with preceptor.
  • Naturopathic physician (ND).
  • Pharmacist and pharmacy intern.
  • Nurse practitioner or physician assistant.
  • Nurse: APN, RN or LPN.
  • Nursing assistant (CNA).
  • Direct entry midwife.
  • Medical assistant.
  • Dentist.
  • Emergency medical providers (EMT, AEMT, EMT intermediate or paramedic).
  • Optometrist.
  • Veterinarian.
  • Phlebotomist.
  • Podiatrist.
  • Respiratory therapist.
  • Traditional health care worker (must be registered with the state of Oregon).
  • Any other health care professional who is or has been licensed, registered or certified in the last five years and is in good standing with their accrediting body.

Health care students in the following fields are eligible as well. Please note, the student must arrange to have their preceptor present at the time of volunteering.

  • Dental.
  • Medical.
  • Midwifery.
  • Emergency medical services provider (EMT, AEMT, EMT Intermediate or Paramedic).
  • Naturopathic medicine.
  • Nursing (including certified nursing assistant programs).
  • Optometry.
  • Pharmacy.
  • Physician assistant.
  • Podiatry.
  • Respiratory therapy.
  • Veterinary.

Non-medical Volunteers 

People without medical training are needed to assist with patient intake, bring vaccine to the stations from the on-site pharmacy, document the vaccinations and other general clinic needs.

Volunteer Training

Thank you for volunteering! In this video, you will learn how to schedule walk-up patients for COVID vaccinations, how to assist patients with self scheduling through Open Schedule, as well as how to document COVID vaccination administration in Epic Hyperspace. You will also find tip sheets for scheduling patients and administering vaccinations using our Epic electronic medical record.
