Samaritan Evergreen Hospice Benefit Luncheon

AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home presents the Samaritan Evergreen Hospice luncheon on Tuesday, April 30, featuring speaker Barb Hansen, CEO of Oregon Hospice and Palliative Care Association. We encourage you to share this event with others to learn about the past, present and future of hospice.

Barb received her BS in Nursing from OHSU and an MA in Interdisciplinary Studies from OSU. With a career spanning since 1986, she has served in various capacities within end-of-life care, including several years as the director of Samaritan Evergreen Hospice. Since July 2015, Barb has served as the CEO of the Oregon Hospice and Palliative Care Association and Executive Director of the Washington State Hospice & Palliative Care Organization. She is an esteemed recipient of the Elizabeth Wessinger Award from the Oregon Hospice Association for her exceptional efforts in advancing end-of-life care both regionally and across the state.

All proceeds will support the care and needed services for hospice patients and families.

About Samaritan Evergreen Hospice

As part of the Samaritan Health Services system, we are a not-for-profit hospice agency serving Benton, Linn, Lincoln, Marion, Polk and parts of Tillamook counties. Samaritan Evergreen Hospice has served over 1,800 patients in the past year through our outpatient program and our freestanding Evergreen Hospice House located in Albany. As reimbursements continue to decline, we are seeking funding that will allow us to continue to offer the uncompensated areas of care which are essential in supporting our holistic model of care. Your generous donation will be used to fund equipment and continue current programs for our patients and families such as massage therapy, music therapy and pet therapy.
