Joni has been a physical therapist for 25 years and is the manager of the Physical Rehabilitation Department at Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital. Her clinical experience is in outpatient orthopedics and sports medicine. She has a strong interest in regulatory issues and has served as president of the Arizona Physical Therapy licensing board.
Nationally, she has served on a number of committees related to equivalency of education and practice of foreign educated physical therapists, the national physical therapist examination, the model practice act, telehealth in physical therapy and disciplinary guidelines for jurisdictional licensing boards. She has twice been awarded the Outstanding Service Award from the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy and is the 2016 recipient of the Richard McDougall Long Term Service Award.
Joni is a current member of the Federation’s Ethics and Legislation Committee and also serves as an on-site reviewer for physical therapy schools for the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education.
In her free time she enjoys running and walking on the beach.
