Dr. Khaki is a board certified general surgeon and director of the surgical quality improvement program for the American College of Surgeons at Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital. He specializes in general, gastrointestinal and advanced minimally invasive surgery, also broad base trained in general surgery.
He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, as well as the Royal College of Surgeons and the Royal Society of Medicine in the United Kingdom. He is a member of several surgical societies including the American Medical Association, Oregon Medical Association, North Pacific Surgical Association, Pacific Coast Surgical Association and Western Surgical Association.
In 2014, Dr. Khaki was elected chair of the Oregon National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (NSQIP) Collaborative. Following in 2016, with the help of other hospitals in the collaborative, he helped form the Northwest NSQIP collaborative for the entire northwest region.
He is a former surgeon champion at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center. Dr. Khaki is past-president of the Portland Surgical Society, Washington County Medical Society and Mackenzie Surgical Society of the Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU); he is also a former professor of surgery at OHSU.
Dr. Khaki received the Golden Scalpel Award and the best teaching faculty honor in 2003 and 2010 from both Providence St. Vincent Hospital and OHSU. He has written a number of publications and presentations, chaired several scientific sessions and participated in many national and international conferences.
