Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing, Briere Method, Gestalt/Somatic Experiencing
Tara provides psychotherapy to older adolescents and adults at Samaritan Mental Health in Corvallis. She is trained in the modality of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, and is practiced in mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, Gestalt/Somatic Experiencing, and the Briere method of regulated trauma processing.
Tara has worked in a variety of settings, including a medical hospital, psychiatric hospital, community mental health, college counseling and pastoral counseling. She is experienced in addressing issues related to depression, anxiety, loss, trauma, life transitions, physical challenges, work and career, school, existential and identity concerns and recovery from psychosis.
In her free time, Tara enjoys spending time with her family, rock hunting at the beach, being in the woods, reading and sitting by the fire.
