Born and raised in India, Sharna immigrated to the United States in 1988. She has worked in hospitals and outpatient care centers and is passionate about treating persistent pain with a combination of movement, acceptance and commitment therapy, pain science and self-compassion. She is a certified Therapeutic Pain Specialist who specializes in lifestyle medicine and manages the MAPS chronic pain mastery group. Sharna views her patients through a diversity, equity and inclusion lens to evaluate how they can heal through patient autonomy, collaboration and empowerment. She believes in creating a healthier community and that health care should be local.
Sharna is married and has three children. In her free time, she enjoys volunteering as an event coordinator for a variety of non-profit organizations. She also enjoys mosaics, beading and traveling with her family.
