Family Nurse Practitioner Sharyn Shepherd was motivated to become a nurse through her experiences having a son born prematurely. She first worked with oncology patients as a bedside nurse and was part of the medical team that performed the first autologous stem cell transplant in Austin, Texas. When she became a nurse practitioner, she decided to make oncology her focus.

Shepherd specializes in immunotherapy, a treatment that uses the immune system to fight cancer. She has a holistic approach to her practice.

Shepherd moved to Oregon seeking a better climate, mountains and trees. She chose Samaritan for its team approach to patient care.

In her free time, she enjoys reading mystery novels and spending time with her family and pets.
