Dr. Steele oversees Samaritan Palliative Care, a multidisciplinary team that supports patients with serious illness.

Dr. Steele grew up in Corvallis. His father was an orthopedist at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center, and his mother designed and built the hospital’s chapel windows.

After medical school, he returned to Oregon and worked in many medical settings before making palliative care his focus.

He guides patients in making treatment decisions based on their goals. By getting to know them and what they value, he can explore the different options for their care.

Dr. Steele is a trained stone carver and musician. In his free time, he enjoys fine arts and watching movies, being outdoors, travel and spending time with family.
