Samaritan Health Services’ Research Institute aims to provide infrastructure to support clinical trials, health research and the development and evaluation of community-based programs to prevent disease and promote community health.

Samaritan offers clinical trials that focus on a variety of health areas. From cancer to cardiology, we strive to provide clinical trial opportunities that will benefit our patients and our communities.
Human Protection
The Samaritan Health Services Regional Institutional Review Board (IRB) reviews proposed research protocols to protect human subjects involved in research. The primary purpose of the IRB is to protect the rights and welfare of patients who choose to take part in human subject’s research.
The IRB is responsible for the following:
- The review and approval of applications to conduct research involving human subjects.
- Continuing review of approved protocols.
- Monitoring of reported adverse events involving subjects in approved protocols
